Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Comms Caddie (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use this website at commscaddie.ai. We are committed to being transparent about what we do with your information.

Comms Caddie is operated by Jack Wilson-Mendy as the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can contact us at hello@commscaddie.ai.

What data we collect

Email address (newsletter)

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is processed by our email provider, Beehiiv, to deliver the newsletter to your inbox, and also stored in our own database for our records. We do not use your email address for anything other than sending the newsletter and responding to you directly.

Account data (admin access)

The site has a restricted admin area used by the site operator to manage content. Authentication is handled through Google sign-in. The only data collected for this purpose is the email address and name associated with your Google account, and this is used solely to grant or deny access to the admin area.

Usage data (analytics)

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site — for example, which pages are most visited, how long people stay, and the general region visitors come from. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. Analytics is only loaded after you have given consent via our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Technical data

When you visit the site, our hosting provider and infrastructure partners may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you requested. This is necessary for the site to function and for basic security.

How we use your data

  • To deliver the newsletter you signed up for
  • To manage access to the admin area
  • To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the site
  • To keep the site secure and functioning
  • To respond to you if you get in touch

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the third-party services we use to operate the site:

  • Beehiiv — our newsletter email provider. Your email address is sent to Beehiiv when you subscribe so they can deliver emails to you.
  • Google — for admin sign-in (Google authentication) and, if you consent, for website analytics (Google Analytics).
  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers — the services that host and serve this website. Standard technical logs (IP address, request times) may be processed by these providers.

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies as data processors on our behalf. You can review their policies on their respective websites.

How long we keep your data

Newsletter email addresses are kept for as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time — using the link in any newsletter email or by contacting us — and your email address will be removed. Admin account data is kept for as long as the account is needed to manage the site.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and similar data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — ask what data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data
  • Objection — ask us to stop processing your data
  • Portability — receive a copy of your data in a usable format
  • Withdraw consent — for data processed on the basis of consent, such as analytics

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@commscaddie.ai. We will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for essential site functionality and, only with your consent, for analytics. See our Cookie Policy for full details, including how to manage or withdraw consent.

International data transfers

Some of the services we use (such as Google and Beehiiv) may process data outside the UK. These providers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements or equivalent protection mechanisms, to ensure your data is protected to UK standards.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If we make significant changes, we will note them prominently.
